road bike buying guide
gender/age
Unisex
These bikes are designed most predominantly with male body types in mind. However, plenty of women use smaller-sized unisex bikes (86.13%).
Women Specific
Women's specific bikes are tailored to fit the average woman's proportions instead of a man's - shorter torso, shorter arms, and longer legs. To account for a shorter torso, manufacturers will bring the handlebars and seat closer together by either shortening the stem or by completely redesigning the frame and shortening the top tube (12.54%).
Youth
Youth bikes are designed to allow youngster to keep up with mom and pop on the road. The bike's geometry is tailored to fit a smaller person, with similar design concepts in mind (1.32%).
